    hey guyz,

I have just bought a diff from ajps its a t-series with 4.1 centre. When bolting up the axle on the rhs the bearing would become notchy, i had a look at the end of the axles and one was shaved, but shaved on an angle. I have put on new bearings and if i swap the axle over to the lhs it spins fine.

I'm just wondering if you have to have one shorter axle on the drivers side?

Any help greatly appreciated, i need my car for work so i'm rooted without it lol

Check the length of both axles and shave one if needed. Not sure why it'd only bind up on one side though.

Put it in the other side, see if the other one does it. if not. keep them swapped. all good ? profit ?

Yeah it only does it on the one side. I just spoke with dave from ajps and he said they were ra40 axles which have to be shaved down 9mm  , i'm thinking i will have to get the splines lengthened if i do that though.

Both of the axles were already shaved when i got the diff, one was shaved more than the other and who ever shaved it didn't do it straight, so maybe i will just straighten it up and hopefully it'll be sweet.

Does anyone know the length of ra40 axles? so i know how much to shave of?

    cheers
