Default sunmoons ae86 - big update page 3

my ae86... if you are an idiot/fuckhead/troublemaker (all the same thing), please dont post in my topic...

    pretty simple.

    engine
    JDM 4age smallport
    TRD 0.5mm headgasket
    shaved head
    removed emissions stuffs
    Apex SAFC II
    264 in and ex cams
    blacktop 20v flywheel
    removed aircon
    big thermo fan
    mr2 oil cooler
    vl turbro fuel pump
kaizen garage extractors 4 into 1 design
    v6 camry 3inch throttle body
2.25 inch exhaust system with mandrel bends
    4agze injectors
    Lightweight Crank Pulley

    body and suspensions
    GT-apex bumpers
    stupidly dark window tint
early model levin tail lights (my fav lights)
kingsprings (while its off the road, new shocks and springs are being installed)
    ma61 rims with 195/60/r14 pirelli p6000s

the idea is for a reliable street car and to not spend much money, not a serious race ae86.

will write up other mods when i get the time....

history.... ok last year somebody cut me off in pouring rain, and to avoid running into the back of them i swerved and ended up spinning 180 into a pole. the police arrived, the lady who caused the accident was drunk and i had to go to court to get my money back as the lady had no money.
about 6 months ago i recieved a payout from her.

i almost sold this car for next to nothing, glad i didnt because.... for free, i recieved a shell and everything required to fix it and also a family friend is doing the body work for the cost of paint, so it worked out rather well to get the payment as a bonus.

the first thing to do was fix the front suspension, there was a damage to the lower control arm. once that was done all i needed to do was to fix the body....

..... anywhoo, i have been driving an aw11 mr2 around since the accident and it is such a good car, i considered my ae86 not good compared to my aw11 so i didnt bother to be repaired..... times have changed, i need a 4seat family car now days (lol my ae86) and i miss my ae86 despite the fact it can not compare to my mr2, the trueno is a FUN car that i do enjoy to drive so i decided about

a month ago to start repairing it..... now it commences. i decided it could do with a respray, so here it is.

cost of repairs should be under 200 dollars and a few weeks time. then i gotta get a quiet exhaust to pass EPA, then rego it again.

    thanks Marvis !

i was going to just keep the car sitting around forever i guess, then after seeing a couple of nice ae86s lately and also my need for a 4 seat car, i just become inspired all of a sudden to fix this. will keep posting my progress as things happen, although for a about 2 or so weeks it looks like no work will be done.

i just found an old photo of it, back in its glory days with my good friend's ae86 (he has now sold it tho)

now that im more the family orientated person, mr2 has its limit.... its useless for grocery shopping !!
as seen in the photo below, when my partner and i go shopping, all i can fit in is a bag of rice and a couple of shopping bags !!

MR2 is also useless for buying vaccumes and furniture products !!
this is the limit of an mr2. i look foward to the return of ae86.

HEHE.. I'm a fuck head trouble maker.... post whoring and typing pointless shit to fill your thread full of needless crap... Bla Bla Bla..

Now bein serious.... Nice to see it bein saved mate...
And why is your aw11 sooo much better than you 86.??
I love my KE.... would much prefer to drive it around than my leather, air con, soft suspension equiped VX SS. I think If ever I bought a newer car It would be an MX5 to retain the same chuckable fun driving experiance..

Do you plan on gettin some wheels for it or just gunna rock the MA61's.??
    Needless post over and out.

well for me the aw11 has things such as eletric windows, mirrors blah blah and more supportive seats etc for daily comfort. not to mention the fact that mechanicaly, other than the 6 speed gearbox, it is all stock, so its very reliable and depend on easy.

the other thing is handeling.... brakes on my aw11 are awesome.

whilst my ae86 may not have massive suspension upgrades like others on this site, i found that as a stock aw11, it had such a massive difference. i truely prefere the midship handeling. then once i did springs and shocks, the aw11 truely started to shine.

might just rock the ma61s but put 205 tyres on when the 195s wear out. thats about all... havnt really got the interest in modified cars so much now days, plus got other stuffs to spend money on ^_^

that rice lasts a few months for me and my partner and the occaisional visit from cousins and other family lol !

so annoyed too, because bag of rice went up in price again !!
