can anybody fill me in about the rule of p platers and engineered cars in melbourne?
if they are not allowed, then does that mean a p plater can not drive a car that is engineered for having custom gauges or a custom seat for eg.
thx in advance

doesn't say much about engineers
30kw club
as far as i know, its 0 engine modifications what so ever, so even a k & n high flow panel filter is technically regarded as an illegal.
they might have changed the laws so if im wrong someone please correct me
everythings so fucking vague it sucks, what i think sucks even more is one cop will pull you over check ya car and say it's fine, then a week later another will pull you over and you'll get reamed and defected for everything the previous cop said was fine, they really need to make all these p plate laws clear and understandadble, it's ridiculous
its silly cause no matter how much u go by law, vic roads will say different to police when they pull you over, ive been told numerous times its no engineers alowed on red P's but thats only what ive been told
If you got your license AFTER july 1 2007, shit day,
no turbos, v8's, enginnered cars etc.
Your still on green p's so most of the time you will get away with it.
but just depends if your prepared to take the risk or not
Apparantly that's just changed, now goes on power to weight my red p plate friends have been telling me, due to mercedes claiming it was unfair you couldn't drive kompressors even thought they were under the power to weight ratio.
At the end of the day mate, the laws here are a f%$king joke, drive whatever you want, everyone else does and they get away with it no worries.
The amount of p plate kids driving skylines, gen3 commodores, xr6t's, imports etc etc. with power way over the limit is ridiculous, and they all get away with it.
yeh there redoing the laws, read on calaisturbo lol,
but its only an exeptions for 'family focused' newer vechiles,
not sports cars, silvias, skylines etc
yeh i read the codes and regulations for p platers and i says nothing about engineered cars at all.
i also applied for insurance and stated that my car is engineered for seats, tachos, motor etc.
and they still wanted to insure me.
knowing full well that im on my red P's.
surely insurance company's know the laws so maybe p platers are allowed to drive engineered cars.
i really dono.
vic roads sux when it comes to informing the public about their shitty laws.
