    Replace the window seals.

You don't want your hatch to rust.

if it is the window seal how is it a problem with the duckwing?

perhaps your duckwing has a hole for the window wiper and you have none and just a grommet in the hole, it may just be sitting the the hole for the duckwing and not actualy sealing the hole in the hatch. letting water run underneath the fibreglass and into the hatch? i know mines doing that right now because of some sweet streeter moldings...

You really need to find out where the water is coming in from. Like they said, it might be nothing to do with the ducktail wing.
It could be the window seals, hatch seals, the wiper hole or some holes wherever the wing has been installed (i've seen them done with self tappers before). It could also be getting in through a rusty bit.

Also depending on how the wing is sitting, it might be causing water to pool on the hatch where normally it would just drain off it. You might want to create some drainage past the wing if that is a problem.

I've found that a good way to locate leaks is to run water from a hose slowly over bits of the car and see if it gets in. Try to narrow down where its getting by moving the hose around. On my car I thought the boot seal was leaking but it turned out the be the rear quarter windows leaking and making its way into the boot.

Someone breaks into your car smashing the rear quarter window, then you call out the guy to replace the window and it doesn't leak anymore...

    ...worked for me

its leaking around the seal. im thinking of using sikaflex around the seal. but the problem is that the ducktail acts as a bowl and keeps the water in and im afraid after time it will just rust around the seal..

Well, replace or get your window seal fixed first off.

    Then either:

    a) work out a way of letting the water drain out from the bowl made by the ductail - even if that means drilling a small hole as a drain point.

    b) keep your sprinter stored undercover
