    From Fast Fours mag.

coming into affect july 1st, p plate drivers in their first year of driving will now be prevented from carrying more then one passenger 24hrs a day.

There are exceptional circumstances, but you need to apply for an exemption.

Shit this is some tough stuff what a dumb law!

agreed. lets help lower accidents by only letting them take one passenger. soooo basically there will be MORE P platers on the road since they can't car pool. stupid laws. same with binge drinking. very stupid single minded thinking going on by the decision/law makers, can't say I'm too pleased.

    hahah yeah its BS.
can't carpool with ya mates when you go out on fri/sat night,
more drunk drivers out on the road a possibility?

More driver training/learning needed, not passenger bans

true more cars = higher percentage of an accident waiting to happen!

might mean more Commys on Lygon uleh at 2pm doing 110km/h then slamming into a parked car, these are the "hoons"....
in my experience drifters keep to themselves, people don't really complain in industrials or national parks...but everyone can see a muzza rip a stand still in chapel street, in his VT with his interceptors on the back and Calais wheels on the front.....

i just hope there is someone whos keeping statistics of MUZZA P platers accidents, not just P plater accidents in general.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (damo46 @ May 20 2008, 06:50 PM) </div>i can't agree with that more, the reason the road toll is going up, is coz the population is going up, and therefore the amount of road users, and since our public transport in melbourne sucks absoloute dick, no one has any other option than to drive to work, and you can see on the evening news, just how much more traffic there is...its gridlocked for like 2 hours straight in some parts.....

i don't see why we *p platers* have just become scapegoats and get all this shit and blame shoved in our faces, I'm not upset so much about the communities image of us, its just the ridiculous over-policing of such a small group in terms of "danger" on the road...
i guess we're just an easy target.

i saw some 40 year old man in a VS ute doing about 150 down Princess darting thru traffic, where's the TMU pulling him up throwing the book at him, and slapping a defect on his POS coz of his 18s not being legal...
