    Default Rare ADM GT-Apex AE86

We all know that the ae86 sold in Australia had 4-ac, limited options, and was a pretty poor car compared to the Japanese counterpart.

I remember reading somewhere that Toyota Japan sent 400 GT-Apex spec AE86's to be sold in Australia for Homologation to they could be raced in rally.

Was looking for any information on them, how many still exist? are they on this forum? And would you rather own a True-JDM import or an Australian sold GT-apex spec model?

They were Levin GTV's from my recollection.

I'm sure I spotted one on ebay maybe 2 months ago. Though there was no way of authenticating that it was really aus delivered with a 4age.

my dads friend rallied one of these when they had 1st been bought over from Japan, my dad actually painted it for him when he was 1st getting it ready for rallying all those years ago. many were totaled in the events sadly.

so who has evidence that they existed, road registered? saves me $800 having to get an engineers cert insteads of just going into vic roads to check engine numbers

    awaits reply from parrot

all we need is evidence then it makes it 10x easier for people in victoria not having to spend their $800 on engineers to just be able to go in to vicroads for an engine change inspection

    Default ADM Levin

I personally saw one on the gold coast (Nerang Area) back in 1996.
    It was red.
The owner said that the car was officially sold thru OZ Toyota Dealer network. He also mentioned that Toyota had to bring in a few to be able to qualify for racing.
At that time, he was willing to sell it for $12,000.

Never even thought of that! Surely if documentation exists that the car was sold in Aus with a 4age that makes alot of our lives on here much easier?

though it would make things interesting.

just like when for example you whack a 5.0L v8 in a v6 holden you must swap over the necessary brakes and suspesnsion from that model. so if it were to work that would mean jdm ae86 brakes would need to be installed...
