    Default removing the inner tierod

    how do u remove the inner tierod 2 install the ajps lock spacer?
    and gettin the boot off any tricks on that?

    It's pretty much straight forward. Look at it and tackle it as you see it. Some may say to remove the tie rod from the rack end (Rack end is what you are talking about "inner tie rod") but you can leave the tie rod connected, although it canmake rethreading the rack end back INTO the rack a little difficult.

    So first. Remove the Rack boot on the rack side, pull it back.

    You will see a washer between the RACK and the RACK END. The washer should have been smacked to make it a locking tab against the RACK END.

    Use a screw driver and hammer to knock this back out so you can get a spanner on the rack end to undo it.

    Clean inside the rack thread and the thread on the RACK END. Apply lock tight to the RACK END thread and slip over the spacer.

    Thread the RACK END into the RACK thread with spacer between.

    Should be it.
