Bigport intake manifold will require the charger to be relocated a bit.
Your extractors will fit the smallport head, might work out cheaper to swap the bigport cams to the smallport head..
Hey Guys,
I have done a lot of seraching on this topic and have learnt some but not all of what I am looking for.
I know that an NA bigport head will definitely go on a Smallport GZE. The reason I want to do this is because, I currently have an NA bigport 4age in my ae71, but have bought a smallport GZE to go in it. I would like to put on the bigport head, as Ive been told it has bigger cams and TVIS. The main reason however, is because this way, I already have extractors and an inlet manifold to fit the bigport head.
I'm just wondering would this be fine to do?
Would my bigport inlet manifold work with the supercharger?
And, I have bought an EMS computer which is already tuned to this engine as is...would i need a retune to compensate for the TVIS?

I'm honestly not that fussed about the cams, the main reason, is because both my manifolds would fit...i always thought that the the placings of the ports were different on both sides, but are you saying they are only different on the intake and not exhaust??
how hard is it to fit the supercharger to work with that manifold? or would i just be better off buying a cut and shut FWD intake manifold...??
the exhuast side is the same, keep what you have
30kw club
You would have to use the GZE inlet manifold as the one you have won't be suitable
What do you mean keep what I have sam? Ive bought a smallport GZE and asking whether or not to buy a new inlet manifold?? because i know the bigport inlet wont fit on it...but now ive been told i need to move my supercharger which I'm not particularly interested in doing...
cut and shut?
you'll need the big port intake off a big port GZE... a intake of a NA won't work with out some serious modification. Weather the NA manifold is cut and shut or not, you'll have to mod it quite a bit...
i mean, do try, but don't expect it to be easy...

i've done the RWD manifold option, its a muck around to get it to fit without fouling the S/C and i don't even know if it will work on stock management yet as the throttle body is relocated and may cause concerns r.e idle etc looks sweet though
the upside of this is i have a smallport ZE inlet manifold left over pm me and your worries are solved
if you bought a smallport GZE, then use the stock GZE inlet manifold etc. If it's still in FWD configuration then it's not that hard to swap the inlet around to face the timing cover end. Your headers will bolt straight up to the smallport head.
