hey guys, just checking to see if anyone knows the expense of importing a 4k-u and whether its worth it or where to pick one up for.
i don't know how many are in SA or their condition..
just seeing if anyone knows anything about the issue.

seems it gains 7 more kw over the australian one 4K-C but what are u going to be using it for? getting it back to original condition? if not a 4-AC or 4AGE would be much better off~ (more modern, reliable, easier to get parts for)
the only issue with the 4-AC or 4AGE is the cost to convert my 70. its not just the motor, it would be the pedalbox & all the other crap.
its just the 4-KU would bolt straight in. i think they hav dished pistons or something?
With the money you would spend importing a 4k-u you could work a usual 4k-c to the same power or more than a 4k-u just get some twin side draught webers, get your cam ground to a longer duration and get the head ported and polished all that work would probably cost you just over $1000 or buy a 5k.
go to a 5k and have a descent increase. or get some 4k-u pistons
prob cheaper and easier to find than a 4k-u and bolts straight in.
yeah worked 4k or 5k better option.
