my e7 did that it was the fuse in the kickpanel fuse box
Hey guys n girls,
Last problem (i hope so bad).
When I turn my lights on the dash does not illuminate. I have everything else working except for clock (speedo - Tacho - fuel - temp) .. Something is hooked up wrong, because when you have the key in the 'on' position and turn the lights on, it will prime the fuel pumps as if the engine is cranking! Slide and I agree that It must be a earth issue, but I'm not sure how to go about tackling it!
Any ideas electrical gurus?
Cheers

Check the fuse first
Then check that you don't have the dimmer switch turned down all the way.
Then Check wiring.

i had same drama in my car when i got it, dimmer was stuffed, no lights at all
i just pulled it out, and soldered the 2 wires together
100% illumination all the time, but when was the last time you wanted less....

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Rob @ Jul 22 2008, 08:15 AM) </div>Aha, I think the reason my cluster backlight isn't working is because I don't even have the dimmer switch in the car (no dashboard, only a drivers seat, pedals, column and the wiring). So when the car comes back together there should be light.
yep thanks guys it was the dimmer switch wasn't plugged in properly.. giggled and wiggled and bammmo it works.. still no clock, n e ideas?
does it work with the ae71>e7 ??
The clocks commonly die, so it may have just gone.
