whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Says the width is 26mm, that would mean single core? Usually double core is 52mm or so. $260 is cheap but a single core is not as efficient as a double core copper+brass or PWR/Koyo Aluminium Radiator. So more efficient than stock, but for a little more you could get double core and much better cooling.
Do they make oem for the ae86 ?

I bought a R32 alloy rad from autobarn for $300, is wider and higher than ae86 rad but i lowered the bottom mounts and had to cut a 50mm slice out of the rad support panel on the passenger side and it fits nicely, it even clears the bonnet and it is a twin core, pics soon in my build thread. You`ve just got to learn to look for alternatives, i`m sure that my radiator is just as good as any koyo or pwr item and also cheaper.
sure it's cheaper, but you had to butcher the front of your car to make it fit.
I had an ARC twin core out of my girlfriend's S14 that I was going to fit to my 86,but it would of required relocation of the solid p/s lines, fabrication of new brackets, and a custom top pipe to cross over from the top outlet that's on the N/S to the neck from the block. seeing as I sold the ARC for $500,and bought a genuine all alloy koyo that bolted into the 86 for $50 more,I reckon that was the smartest option.
going huge in the radiator means it takes longer to warm up initially as well.
unless you have an engine making SERIOUS power, you don't even need a dual core radiator. a single core with twin 10" thermo fans is plenty for a 4age.
any decent radiator place should be able to supply you a brand new std radiator for an 86. if not, they'll be able to re-core or re-tank your current one, whatever is required. I had a local copper-cored oem-style radiator in my last 86 that I had rebuilt with a twin core. was more than adequate for two hour plus country road runs at full stick, and sessions around wakefield park.
Justin...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (fergo308 @ Aug 4 2008, 10:14 AM) </div>re single core being enough for a 4age... if all is in working order, and the car is standard tune, then yes.
advance the timing a bit and it wont keep up on the track.
78's
I've got a landcruiser radiator in mine. 3 core from memory when i used to fix the fuckers. suffice to say no high temp problems! Doesn't take overly long to warm up either.
pwr do a radiator specially for the 86, it has all the right mounts in the right spot and fits without ANY mods
