What are the main differences between a 4AFE and a 4AGE?

Do they just use a different head, possibly different rods? Or is a 4AFE completely differnt to a 4AGE?

Any help is much apreciated. Thanks, Matt.

many differences, I have written a bit on here, this is your best bet:

As a summary the F stands narrow valve angle in the head, also don't believe people when they say that wide valve angle is for more power, its bullshit

    Thanks Sam, a good read.

I am still a little confused, it may have been in there and I may have missed it. But is it possible for a 4AGE head to be put onto a 4AFE block.

Basically what I'm trying to establish is weather or not I could buy a 4AFE engine, then also buy a bigport 4AGE head to use on it (and also obviously an ECU, loom, etc. I already have bigport RWD manifolds, etc.) Is that possible, and if it is, will it produce approximatly the same power as a 4AGE?

Maybe I should read that link again once I have slept.

    Thanks again.

the pistons could be different however it could probably still work. The valves should still clear the pistons but they no longer will when a belt snapped. All this is an educted guess though.

However the 4afe is its stock form is a low rpm engine and I believe the crank is a cast crank instead of the 4age forged crank. Now I am not saying it wont hold up but I don't know for sure.

So all in all I don't recommend it seeing how cheap they go for sometimes

I'm thinking the dizzy is in a bad spot aswell you will have to butcher the fire wall to fit her in (at least that's what it looked like you would need to do when I looked at getting one for my car a while back)
