    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (pawpaw @ Sep 29 2008, 08:46 PM) </div>got that right...

it was like an attempt of a blatant copy of the British version (even the same jokes, i was expecting them to call that other guy 'captain slow') ....it would have been ok if it was something different...but it wasn't, and it was a terrible attempt.....

did you see the yellow rally sprinter in the instruction sequence? (the music part at the beginning), it was that rally school up here in Queensland somewhere i think...

would have been worth it if we actually saw some of the gtr

or if they actually crashed one of the 4wd's

if they arnt breaking them.... they just are not making good television.

the point of the show is to do what we cant.... anyone can rent an xtrail and flog it on the sand dunes......

the 1 cool thing they did was launch the rav. and they didnt even get a decent shot of it

my eyes rolled the most when they got their stig to do a lap on their track (the track looks like crap) with the porche and then they decided to get him to do more cars whilst he was at it. why not just wait for next week and show another.

the bit at the end with the shark was one of the dumbest things ive ever seen. they do stupid things on the uk top gear but atleast they make it funny and dont try to make things not seem lame when they are.

the bit about white cars with black wheels..... thats been around atleast since the 80's :whistling:

    yeah similar thoughts here.

the shark thing made me wonder if the BBC guys made them put it in there cos australia is just some scary place with dangerous creatures...

and the 3 stooges they have doing it are like dodgey versions of the brit trio. except the guy who is supposed to be hammond
makes the worst lame jokes, and looks like they found him in a soup kitchen.

every now and then in the bbc one you get a boring patch which is just too staged or just lame. but the aussie one
was like that the whole way through.

i think the bbc one is pretty universal, well known and liked, so an aussie remake is about as desirable as teeth on a cunt.

I think in the UK they took three people who had worked in media and were established media presenters of some form or another and ended up with a bit of chemistry. In the aus version, that I was flicking between last night, they didn't come up with anything new at all they just tried to get three aussie guys to do exactly the same as the UK guys.

Sorry but you can't script personality!!!!

    my thoughts the same ...

abit mre on the aussie track.... umm i dont think it even was a track more like from A to B.... overall show looked cheap ...

and i agree they should of saved the gtr and all the other cars for the following shows ... i think the car show on channel nine that they used to play is alot more better then aussie top gear ..

overall FAIL ... but ill give it a chance .. might get better as it goes ...

final thoughts .. i think aussie top gear needs to be their own and not try to be uk top gear ... cause it will never compare ... and if it was going to be a copy of uk top gear then it needs to exceed and do better then uk top gear or else it will always be like buying performance car parts made in china ... cheap and dirty and doesnt last long .
