2.25", no more no less
muffler wise .. anything .. try and keep it straight-through as much as possible .. and if you can remove/gut your cat that would be good too
Hey dudes,
Looking at getting a new exhaust made in the next couple of weeks.
Looking at a stainless steel system from stock manifold (or if i can find aftermarket extractors) to the exhaust tip. (Cat+tip+bits in between)
Engine is 4AG (biggy) stock for now.
I hear 2.25" is the optimum size for NA.
What do you guys recommend?
Magnaflow hi flow cat/tip?
I'm all ears, if not i was contemplating the Toda CAT back system 60mm diameter.
Cheers
if you plan to never do any mods ever then 2 icnh would be fine if it didnt have too many bad press bends. I'd run a resonator too, as they sound pretty shit with just one muffler.
You can use a cat from a commodore, i use one on my system, they flow well apparently.
I have also been told that if you are going to get an exhaust done that has press bends you should go up a little bit in size to conpensate for it, so i guess around 2 1/2 with press bends or 2 1/4 mandrel bent. But unless your 4age is making 200hp i doubt itll make any difference :greenbounce: . Same goes for extractors, its more of an 'looks' thing, standard manifold flows well and should do for 99% of applications.
Cusco have awesome looking extractors which you can get from ajps on this forum :2thumbs: .
Thanks guys,
At the moment the 4AG is stock, though I'm hoping to pick up a spare engine soon to do some head work like: cams, quads, etc So hopefully 2.25 will be fine with that also.
2.25
We'll roll with that size then
Probably get a resonator put in as i don't want it to be tooo loud, though it probably will be as i want a muffler which is basically straight through. So its a bit of a catch 22.
hey how much were those extractors from ajps just for reference??
