i think it all depends on how much you are willing to spend on a first car.
86 if you can afford it.
hi guys
im looking to buy my first car...just wondering what peoples thoughts are on what i should get...a ke70 or an ae86.
i know people might say 'it depends blah blah'
just want to know peoples personal opinions though on what they prefer and whats better for a first car (prices, possible problems with the car...etc.)

ae = 2 doors
ke = 4 doors
Up to you if you want 2 door sporty hatch or 4 doors sedan? As far as mods and prices go for everything else they are basically the same coz they use basically the same aftermarket parts.
yeah lately ive been getting into sedans...but the ae is pretty nice as well.
its such a hard decision.
right now i have about 300 saved up, wont get me much. but my birthdays coming up soon and ill probably get about 300 or so out of that..
dont really want to spend more then a grand if i dont have to..plus i want to put mods in it.
you would be extremely lucky to pick up an ae86 for that prices that is registered. if you dont mind a project you could get one if you wait and look around enough.
you could probably get a rego'd ke for a grand or less.
for 1k you could probably get a pos with some serious cancer (AE) or a decent KE.
Well by the looks of your budget, an AE86 is out of the price range for you, so go with a Keto . I Prefer the 4door dorifto beasties anyways. But it's all up to personal opinion, there is really no point in asking us what car you should buy, because it's up to you, not anyone else, that is of course unless you are buying the car to impress others.
do u also mean ae71?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (anastasios @ Sep 8 2008, 04:08 PM) </div>ae71s go alright...but what would be the pricing on them?
and my personal opinion is that i like them all! im just stuck on what to get. its a hard decision. i could probably gather more $$ if i needed to.
theres a white keto that lives down my street, its berry nice...but i also see some hectic ae's driving past my house.
basically i want something that would look tuff as and have minimal performance problems, and not cost THAT much.
haha i think im going in circles here
if all you'll have is $600,cars period are out for you. add a zero to end of that amount before you start looking at anything you'd want to think seriously about. $1000 and below cars all have one thing in common,they're rubbish. especially when it's your first car ever,that you're going to want to drive daily,everywhere to do everything.
harsh,yes. realistic,also yes. cars cost real money. your budget says pushbike.
Justin...
