finally got it running sorta good....ish and looking good with new rear springs (thx muncher!) and fixed back and fender mirrors and shit.

8's fit oh so good now with the shortened hilux.

then on the way home just out of balh, at the sweeping left before the big downhill, i get some tramp and smash the mounting bracket welds on the diff. yes, so just imagine your rear axle only held in by one of the 4 link bars and just the swaybar. whilst going round a sweeping downhill at Warp Speed 9.

Big, wide, wrong side of road slide, then had a huuuuuge tankslapper most of the way down the hill and nearly speared into the trees/armco a couple of times whilst washing off speed and trying to regain control.
i thank jesus himself that no-one was coming the other way or else i would have killed them and myself.
fucking BIG brown pants moment. would have made the news for sure if id binned it. ive had "moments" but nothing like that at this speed*.

diff now has movement about half a foot out of either side guard.. depending on which way i corner. nursed it back to work. threw away my soiled underwear.

a good wake up call for me. you just never, ever know if something will fuck up on ur car and cause havok,

also no need to drive like a total fuckwit (excessive speed) on public roads that COULD have had oncoming traffic.
save it for the track days (or quiet industrial areas at early hours of the morning )
