RT142 IRS Rear end diff gasket

Car model:Toyota Corona

Engine type:22RE

Problem: RT142 (IRS) need a new diff gasket. I have tried re-sealing with gasket goo, only held up a week. I have tried everywhere to find a "new" one.

I believe my problem is that the diff was used in other later model toyotas, and there would be a part number somewhere for the other models.

Short of making my own gasket, any links, helps, tips, suppliers?

Have you tried asking your local Toyota Dealer?

Also is a great way to find Toyota Part Numbers

You will find the Gasket is part 41182-22011 , unless it's been superseded by another model. I would just call your local dealer, tell them you have a part number, your cars build info and then they should Fix the rest

Local toyota dealer laughed at me, in fact the three that I rang were absolutely no help and rude.

That's a shame usually with a part number they are much more inclined to help out as it shows you've done some homework.

Going off memory, MA61 IRS is same as RT142 IRS. They didn't have any *T142 car and that's the only one that's IRS so I picked celica/supra with IRS. Should be the same part, hope someone here can confirm.

I know the part number is different to what HJ60 posted but a few of the part numbers in the first link correspond to those in the second link so I'm pretty sure we're looking at the right part.

Why is it that Toyota dealership's are never helpful(the one's that I go to anyway) but Nissan rules when I go in looking for S13SR/S14SR parts?

I would just use good gasket goo instead of going to the effort of getting a gasket in though. Threebond or permatex ultra blue.

I just used genuine Toyota gasket glue FIPG because I got it for free but call scifleet most of the boys that work there (at all 3) all have old corollas and the like so there used to getting old parts.
