SA really does have some super awesome Ae86's, this being one of them. Pity most of the others are in sheds never to see the light of day! haha
OH MY!!! what have u done to my old 86 hahah looks so good dude. well done glad to see u made something of it
Thanks all.. Sticking with this car is finally starting to pay off.
I'm still waiting on rear lock rings for spring seats, so won't bother getting alignment etc, until I have heights right
Been a while.. Car is still going strong, came off the road for a bit because brakes. ADM brakes and high temp pads were no good.
So I was going to do rx7 brakes, but that was a long winded process and never happened. I had some JDM brakes lying around with some unknown pads and put them on for a collingrove hillclimb day. The car did well, might have got another second with some better condition tyres and changing some things, but was a good test. It was mainly to see how much improvement I make with the new motor.
New motor goes in next month, so should be about 3 months from then before I drive it again. Looking at a 4ag ke70 tonight, so that will be something to keep me entertained in the time between now and then.
So I said goodbye to this car a couple of weeks ago now. Hopefully I will have it back in a few months with the beams in it.
Hoping to do the legend of the lakes hillclimb later this year, AJPS should be in it running as well. Will see how that goes,
as I will need to get a few more things for the car when it comes back, and it's usually in the middle of exams.
I then bought this car. Possibly one of the worst 4age conversions, and the worst suspension set up.
Who knows why you would put a 4age in a corolla with stock suspension just chopped. Konakid did a skid in it on the night of purchase,
and the battery flew out of the battery box, denting the rear panel from the inside out.
So now Javal has taken care of it. It's getting the whole front end basically rewired, and most likely a RWD water system and alternator.
Have Jap 86 struts/brakes, KYB shocks, 6kg + 4kg springs, PS arms, RCA's to go into it, then rebushed gear when it comes out of the sprinter.
Javal is the new updated Slide86............Now with more hair.
hahahahahahahahahahaha fucking oath he is
its the natural 'progression' from metros
once becoming a certified ajps mr fix it, you then have the necessary skills, coupled with those learned at the dealership to progress to anything
