shit i must be an electrician cause i can use a multimeter, na dude its really not hat hard if its a dial multimeter turn it around til its on the 20v or the closest one to 20v (but not under 12). then use the black needle to earth it out the the red needle to what ever you are checking for a circuit.

the wire pictured is for the supressor, all it does is reduce electrical 'noise' that can occur sometimes. it is not needed for the alternator to operate. (it does indeed connect to the 'B+' on the alternator.
turn your ignition on, but do not start the engine, is the 'CHARGE'(or batttery symbol) light on your dash lit up?
If it is lit up, does is turn off when the engine is started? because it should.
it sounds like a wiring fault, in either the 'B+' wire to the battery + terminal, or the charge light wire isnt connected at the back of the alternator.(thin wire)

Can anyone help me. Willing to pay. Went to an auto electrician and he didnt know shit from clay. Will go to different one if no one can help me. I need to get to work everyday and i barely am atm. i have no idea were that is if you pull the altinator off the car it should have stamped on it B+ maybe S and w or something like that but either pull the altinator off and check let us no what it has on it or take it to a auto sparky i would help ya man but im in brissy and i assume your not
