The only reason Subaru's with an exhaust sound the way they do is because of the unequal length headers up to the turbo. Put an equal length set of headers on and it completely changes the sound, you wouldn't recognise it as a Subie at all. Didn't rev very quickly? I drive them all day (Subaru Mechanic) and a standard wrx revs up a lot quicker than any standard 4age i've ever seen.

Hmm... this is the first time i've seen the car and must say I won't be buying one, doesn't do it for me at all lol but that's just me, body lines remind me to much or a 370z.
Then again I don't see the point in retro ing a clasic car, holden have failed trying to recreate the Torana and the monaro (to be honest wasn't bad but still)
And the whole boxer motor just doesn't fit to me, to me the ae86 is a classic toyota, where this is a mix of toyota and subaru, but yeah.
Again I'm looking at it as modern day ae86 and realistically I shouldn't, i think they should've left the 86 part out of the car.

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION GUYS LOL PLEASE DON'T BE TO ROUGH ON ME, NO PERSONAL DIG AT ANYONE

Its an open poll I was just giving my 2 cents worth. As I said I only drove the car once and it failed to impress me. And my mates car was a EJ25 N/A, no turbo, I have heard from my mate, who is a diesel mechanic, say that before if you get a decent set of headers it will sound a lot better but he said the burp sound is still there. My mates car only had the rear section of the exhaust done cause he couldn't afford the whole lot. Still made a fully sick sound.

I have know 2 people who have had a Subaru with boxer engines both wrapped their heads. And one is my dad's friend driving an auto Outback.

Who would have thought that a 20 year old engine doesn't rev as quick as a newer and turbocharged engine huh.

I have only drove a Subaru once I don't plan on doing it again. Just my opinion. You probably have driven every model that Subaru has to offer so you would know more on the matter. People are probably going to take your advice over mine. I could care less

Bigport out of an ae82 seca will go perfectly. Even throw a t50 and S series in it.

thats not correct. the sound comes from the altered firing order.

thats not entirely true, the headers play a huuuuge part of the sound, sure firing 1324, raher than 1432 does have an effect, but not that much, its still a 4 cylinder. good equal length headers and it will sound like any other 4 cylinder, that said if it fired like a normal engine, you wouldnt have the same sound with the offset headers

But go put an exhaust on a gt liberty, it doesn't sound like a wrx.

Anyway, my sources tell me that they will be taking deposits the end of november, when advertising starts

Still a lot of cash to spend on a car...if funds permitted would be unique, that's for sure.

Whether it be wrx, caldina, evo and even s-chassis,or anything 4 pot turbo really...they are all a similar base with pros and cons...and factory, they all are not that fast really. BUT! once enthusiasts like us start tinkering with them, that is where they can come alive! The boxers have proven to be a good base for further development so i think it will work well!! And aftermarket should adapt easy to it. win for us really.
