4age rebuild kit?

As in a gasket kit? Just try US ebay, got mine from there and the gaskets were fine. I didn't use the head gasket though...

yeh there ars a couple of kits on there but they have graphite gaskets and not sure how much i want to trust them

No the Toyota kits are just gaskets and seals. Just get rings and bearings from ebay USA, all good brands just a lot cheaper than here.

Not trying to hyjack this thread, but I am in the exact same position as 'Dilsy'. So I am asking the same questions. + more.

Those kits on Ebay USA, How do I tell/know whats good? are some of the kits cheap quality crap?

From what I can tell, I need for my Smallport bottom end rebuild:
Full gasket set - Toyota genuine?
Engine bearings - Whats recomended? ACL Race series?
Engine bolts - ARP main and head sets?

This will be my first attempt at rebuilding an engine myself, so this is all a learning process for me.
The bottom end I have is a small port that came off the road from having poor compression (90 accross all 4). Was told it had 90,000kms on it. Bores, crank, pistons and rods all look clean, but the compression rings were fucked (didn't see for myself, was told that).


Any advice on rebuild parts is handy....

How do I know I am getting the right kit? (regarding bigport/smallport kits, compression ratio, standard or oversize? etc...)

i can get normal and 0.5mm oversize rings genuine parts
same with bearings
