Convert T50 H pattern to sequential

I've heard of this device: ikeya formula sequential shifter

But don't think they have it for a T50 but it might work with some customizing.

If it's good for your box is a different story though...

Thanks for the reply - aware of gearbox limitations, but more looking to avoid mis-shifts than "slam" through gears as you would in a true sequential.

I read an old thread that claimed an AE86 with sequential, but cannot find now, but not sure if true sequential or converted "H" pattern.

Thought of just rebuilding the standard shifter with a kit through AJPS. Its amazing the amount of slop that gets reduced.
Not really a fan of short shifters as they alter internal leverages in the trans, and will damage the synchros in time.

Pray tell how changing the pivot point on the shifter alters the internal pivot points in the gearbox?

Also pray tell how a short shifter by default damages the synchros of the gearbox.

I am with Takai, did you get that crap off Donnon? with a short shifter you actually have less leverage available to damage your internals of the gearbox due to the mechanical disadvantage

I think peoples basis for short shifters ruining boxes are from drifting. fast, abusive shifts.

But drifting and shifting harshly regardless of the length of internal throw will ruin a box.

and any sequential box will require a straight cut gearset.

Your best bet would be to find a 2nd hand hollinger and adapt the bellhousing.

actually the best option is to get a Quiafe sequential and then adapt a bellhousing. work out about $5K cheaper
BTW have used short shifter and LOVE it - whole lot better than remote shifters too.

He is correct, the speed of the shifter below the pivot point is increased, if synchros are on the edge, a short/quick shift will fuck em. draw it up and look at the distance the selector is moving through with respects to the movement of the gear lever above the pivot point.

the conversion would be really expensive and most likely not really worth it in the end, if you're missing shifts with a fresh h pattern shifter you're doing it wrong
