Just hope the buyer is legit. Speak to them on the phone and suss them out before committing anything. I've bought 2 engine interstate and both were received in perfect condition. Paid for the first one up front, and with the second I payed half, then when I received the engine, I payed the rest of money to him.

It is very much buyer beware. If the person has 2 posts to their name, I'd be wary, but you'd assume all is good if they are a reputable member.

Edit: Second engine was worth alot more so he sent engine first, then the loom and ECU with second payment. Other thing is though, they might be wary of you if you want to do it this way.

In the past i've organised someone in close enough proximity to go have a look at the engine and suss it out for me in exchange for a couple of $$ for beer.

If it were me selling an engine to you and you were a bit hesitant i'd understand / appreciate your concern and come up with some sort of arrangement where you are happy.

Loom / ecu later is a fair deal.

Where's the engine located. I'll go look at it if it's not too far away.
