SO Javal, since i know your an T130 Guru, and i am guessing you will be cremated.. or buried in one.

ive got a few questions for you.

Ever hear of anyone pissing off the steering box, bolting in an 86 X member and using an 86 rack & pinion?

Only reason i ask is, i've got my eye on a nice baby blue ( thats factory blue ) xt130 sedan around my way.
want it for a daily, do an engine swap etc
BUT the xt130 x member looks nasty for getting any type of front sump engine in a decent position.

I have never heard of anyone doing it but that doesn't mean it's not possible.

XT130 chassis rails are narrower than xE7x / AE86, so the crossmember won't really go straight in, it would need to be cut and shut, but it's quite possible. I imagine doing it the same way as one would convert TE72 to Rack and pinion conversion would be the best bet - KE70 column, may need a lengthened lower steering shaft, xE7x R+P crossmember modded to fit rails.

This also opens the door to engine conversions to suit your chosen crossmember - while a KE70 or AE71 crossmember is a good starting point, you also then commit yourself to either fitting a K (lol) or an A engine, both of which are going to be too small for a xT13x, or modifying the crossmember more (which if it's being shortened anyway is no issue) to allow the fitment of something with more capacity like a 3S...

Might as well just make a crossmember from scratch then .
Was thinking NA 3S Beams, after all there is just under 100kg difference between and Xe7X an a XT13X, I was thinking about a wagon, as i've found one of them as well. I would just have to figure out the rear end then, they are Leaf sprung right?

    any updates on your beast?

Wagons are leaf sprung rear end, borg warner diff and borg warner 'depress shifter then left and up' reverse.

I'd modify a crossmember if it were me doing it, but if you have the fabrication skills...

Corona #1 is still at the painter but is progressing

Corona #3 (this one) made a big leap today.

    REGO!

Gonna order my R-series plates when I get home from tour, but i'm really glad I got it ready to drive before I go away.

So tonight I am going for a drive through the hills for the first time in a long time, albeit in a stocker.

Pretty excited to do some more work on this. Bushes / balljoints next I think.

    Starfire - misfire, start fires

    18R - fireball

Surely an upgrade to 18RG will result in my death (by fire).

Right. I've got some serious work to do.

First on the list is procuring some MA61 seats and a VGC AE86 Twincam wheel.
I can't sit in the car comfortably for long periods as the RT132 seats have very high bases due to their 'tilt' function, so i have to slouch significantly. This is no good.

Second, balljoints and bushes, tie rod ends (all 4) also, the linearity of the front end leaves a lot to be desired.

Then rims and tyres, springs and shocks - MZ1x Soarer 15"s, RE002 front and misc rear tyres, AJPS 5kg/mm front spring with KYBs, maybe something flashier and 4kg/mm rear with KYBs.

I sold them for half what I bought them from old mate Rick (toyoland) for. Gotta find some brown ones to kind of match the trim colour.

Secret. Mixing up desired engine and chassis codes.
