JZ all of the things I say!

Diff turned up from the big island today...

    Yep a .....C series out of a YR22 SPACIA!!!

Even had the axle code on the invoice C####...this after assuring me he had gone out the back and checked to make sure the monkeys had the right one "yep correct spline, 7" ring...checked the plate"

Hmmm possibly not likely, stayed calm, got on the phone and they assure me it will be sorted.

Scored a diff locally earlier in the week, the thing had been used in a friends ae71 sr20 powered corolla.

The axles are slightly twisted at the splines so I picked the best of the two and slipped it in to make it a go for the practice day yesterday.

First time back at Baskerville with the AJPS 6kg springs in the back, pinion angle set spot on and a pair of TRD blue short stroke adjustables I scored which were slipped on at the track just after scrutineering.

OMG its a fuckin different car, just hold the thing nailed everywhere and the rear is steady as a rock, no tramp, no wallow, just drive & smoke!

Very happy as not only is it tops to drive now I can finally move on to doing some front end tweaks.

Its all back in the thread but...

    Front...
    MA61 front struts and brakes
    RA60 power steering arms
    Lengthened LCA's
    Cut king springs...yuck
    KYB inserts
    all urethane bushing

Rear is a 4.1 F series diff from a YR22 Tarago van here in oz with mounts modified to fit the rona pick up points
Custom adjustable top arms for pinion angle adjustment
AJPS 6kg ae86 front springs(to fit the seats noice) and adjustable seats
TRD blue short stroke 8 way adjustable ae86 shocks
    Custom adjustable panhard rod
    and again all urethane bushings

    Sway bars are stock

So pretty much standard parts in the front but a good combination for good steering axis inclination, castor, camber and lock

Only just locks over centre at the moment which seems to be a toyota front end trait when going for lock with knuckles etc

Stay tuned for front end mods

Try not to be rough on the box generally, I just leave it in third on the track and it cops the occasional light clutch kick the get things operating

Hasn't missed a beat behind the 2j or this engine thus far.

A friend had a W58 behind his 350 odd kw 2j for a good while and it only carked it from a limiter 5th gear burnout at the last powercruise down here lol
