Exclamation Cross threaded lift gate support

Hey guys i got a ae71 panelvan and the original owner cross threaded the lift gate strut into the chassis. it was fine for a while but eventually all the thread wore away so the lift gate strut no longer has any support. I b ought a nutsert tool thinking i could use it easily but the grip is to short and i cant find long enough nutserts. =[ i think the tool says its good for up to 4 mm but this looks more like 10 mm has anyone had any similar problems ? im pretty angry because i already drilled the whole to 1/2 =[

10mm long nut cert? with m8 thread x ~12.5 (1/2") wide? is that what you need? I think I might have something close at work. I'll have a look tomorrow if I get time.

Not sure what you mean when you say "i think the tool says its good for up to 4 mm but this looks more like 10 mm"
Are you winding on M8 certs and the cert gun only winds in 4mm of thread???
