    Default Not a Toyota

    This is a summary of my build of my 1975 Galant Hardtop build.

    Started it's life with me as a one owner, 1600, Auto with 75,000k's and service history. Sadly the original owner was pretty old, had been put in a wheelchair so couldn't drive and the Galant was sitting on the front lawn for about 4 years before I convinced his Grandson to sell it to me This was about 7 years ago now. It sat in the shed for about 3 years where I started removing some parts

    Pics of the process;

    Then I moved it to a workshop I was renting;

    Moved it back to my shed and started putting it back together for final paint

    More assembly of final parts. Bought a spare roller for parts, then sold it on. The spare should be on the road by Easter. Good to see rare cars live on

    Genuine Galant GTO seats out of Japan practice fitted and getting ready for final paint

    My first ever paint job, still needing colour sand and compound polish but I am happy with the result

    And a sign of things to come

    Engine is now a Magna 2.6 fitted with flat tops, a 2.0 Sigma head, lumpy cam, ported and decked making about 13:1 comp ratio. Custome extractors, redline inlet fitted with twin 48mm Dellorto's. Outside I have fitted mega rare Galant GSII tail lights and badging. R31 15x6 steelies widened on the rear to 15x8 +0

    Nearly finished body, just got mechanicals to finish

    Fitting EX Lancer Turbo disc brake LSD

    First wash, still need interior finished

    First start up - Vid

    First drive - Vid

    Interior fitted. GTO seats, new red carpet and leather steering wheel I trimmed myself

    First photo shoot, lol

    This pic really shows why I want the guards replaced, lol. The guy that filled in the indicators followed the body line not the grill

    Profile

    Gratuitous rear end shot

    Even from a distance that is a sexy ass (H)

    Sorry for dropping it on ya's in one hit but it was the easiest way.
    Any questions feel free to ask.

    Cheers
    Jason

    I like the exhaust, lol. I wanted twin outlets and there is no room left or right because of the leaf springs so I thought it would look better central than off centre but not to the side if ya know what I mean.
    Anyway, thanks guys It has been a long build and it is all but done, if they are ever done

    Cheers shift_rook, appreciated

    Thanks dove grey 64, thats was the landlord of the shed I was renting. He was a tool, thats why the build moved to my shed midway through.
    I will be taking it on Jaf's cruise on Boxing Day if anyone from SA is there say hi.

    Cheers
