    Default Bendix Christmas Tech Tips

Christmas Holidays is one of the most pleasant times of the year except on the Australian roads. An increase in people on the road and longer distances travelled leads to dangerous road conditions. It is then important to make sure your braking system is working as effectively as possible. If your car shows any of the following symptoms please seek professional advice.

Below is guide to help minimise the risk of accidents these holidays, stay safe and have a Merry Christmas from Bendix.

    Tip #1: Low/Spongy Brake Pedal
Pedal nearly touches floorboard before brakes function. No brake reserve.

    Tip #2: High Pedal Force
Excessive stopping distance, excessive pedal effort, brakes do not react properly.

    Tip #3: Brake Drag
Sticking brakes may be failing to release properly.

    Tip #4: Brake Pull
Car pulls to one side when brakes are applied.

    Tip #5: Brake Grab
"Touchy" brakes that grab with least pressure.

    Tip #6: Brake Noise
Brakes should operate with minimal amount of noise. However excessive squeal, screech, groaning, grinding chatter or rattle means your brakes need attention.

    Tip #7: Vibration
Brake pedal, steering wheel or entire wheel shakes, vibrates or pulsates when brake is applied.

    Tip #8: Brake Wear
Premature wear can be caused by a number of faults in the brake system.
To avoid costly repairs have the brakes checked at least once a year.
