New Wheels (with heaps of pics)
Questions needin' answers...What it's like now...
What I plan to make it look like...
How complex is the wiring behind the dash? Only one way to find out...
What's the best form of sound deadening? I want to keep the car light, but block out a decent amount of sound... Is dynamat lighter than tar? Should I fuck-off all the tar and chuck in dynamatting under the carpet?
Why the fuck are the electricals so fkd... When I got it, turning on the headlights shut off the head unit. Now, turning on the headlights doesn't engage the dash lights and it leaves the head unit on.
How complex is re-wiring the accessories circuit? What's running on it that I should be concerning about? Maybe I should remove a heap of things off that circuit and wire my own switchbox to hide somewhere.
I have a switch wired to nothing already... so that could be my master cut-off switch that I can use to control current to headunit's accessories (not the constant... yes I'm bad enough to do that), headlights, foglights.. maybe others.
What would happen if I cut the power going to the fuel pump and I tried to start the car?
Is it detrimental to the ecu to cut the power going to it when the car is turned off?
What color scheme am I going? What wheels are in my inspiration? Can I get them a bit wider to run a lower profile tyre?
Could i run a softer spring but reduce bodyroll in other ways?
Perfections to ensue
Switch board for all non-essential electronics. This covers..
Head unit acc. line on C1
Head unit line on C2
Headlights on C4
Levin loggies + orange foggies on C4
Fuel pump if research says it's okay on C1
ECU if research says it's okay C1
Switch to cut off each circuit
Switch to cut off all circuits
JDM interior conversion
New sound system; single din on the top slot, drink holder on the bottom; make sure it fits.. gearstick is a bitch
Clean up speedo... Maybe get a new cluster and hack up a second ODO to monitor the engine's KMs
Re-run the piping for the cooling in the engine bay
Relocate radiator overflow
Detach water bottle for washers from the over flow, relocate and re-run lines
Install airconditioning... even though it's not needed.
Bodykit, rims
Get body re-checked for rust, fix accordingly
Respray car after making up mind on color
New interior lights; white LED's in the foot wells, maybe under the front chairs. Wire them to the interior lights.
White LED's running underneath the car on both sides; if you open drivers door, drivers-side LED strip turns on. Connect to interior light circuit.
White LED's in door storage thingo's and under the area for the headunit; connect to interior light.
Re-install rear wiper
Fix issue with shifting into second; near gearbox or fix gearbox.. don't know yet
Make up mind about trueno front-end conversion.
2 x 4" replacement speakers. Run a slimline sub somewhere but hide it. Don't jeapordise the boot if possible...
Quick-release HUB
New gauges + sensors, running independant of ECU. Go Defi if cash suffices... if not, find a good imitation.
Re-tint all the windows; 35% all round... maybe 25% on the rear.
Maybe get the new tail lights
new bushes all round
Check CV's ... fix accordingly

Yeah whatever you wrote doesnt make any sense and hurts my eyes.
Here are my comments/thoughts/suggestions.
-Get more pics and details for our reading pleasure
-Dont fit any LED lights
-Good luck finding any CV's on your car
-Dont bother hooking up another odometer?
hard to read brother. on the other hand nice dish. what wheels and specs
Pick up Sydney

You need to sell me your shell.. Lol
Looks good condition but sounds like a lot of things to do
Keep it simple, Best advise I can give
dose
Sorry about the formatting.. I did it in a text file and just copy/pasted. It was a bit hard to post from work
I dont get time to look at the forums at night.. but I will tonight
A mate and I are gonna go through the eletricals this weekend I think. I'll post a status update after.
I'll update the whole thing with pics all around the car and other details... just need to be home during the daylight
Lol thanks for the warning about the CV's.
I was thinking about doing a custom dash and having a decent speedo/tacho etc. in, but I've grown accustom to what's in there now so I've dropped that idea (for now at least).
I still want to do the LED's... especially with the black JDM interior. I'm not doing "fully sick" styled LEDs; the ones in the foot wells will turn on when the doors are opened. I used to have it in my Excel (but they were "fully sick"-spec), and surprisingly they came in handy when teaching my gf at the time to drive manual. It also helped when you dropped something down there at night and times like that.
The ones under the car will turn on when the door above it is opened. So many times I've gotten out of my car in dark areas and gone straight into a puddle/mud pit... EG/ out front of my house, particularly with the locker/welded diff, the front yards just been ripped up into mud and the side I get out of is out of th elight... so I figured they could come in handy too :p
The ones in the door cards are just wank factor
No idea about the specs, nor the name of the wheels. That's how they came, and they've been getting a lot of interest. I really need to htfu and figure out the details for them.
Also, heaps of stuff isn't working, like the tail lights and dash. My mate fixed one of my speakers last night, so now I'm pimpin' around with two speakers. Ballin' I tells ya.
The music cuts out when it's too loud... seems like having the music loud drains too much from the power... Might have to put a new battery in.
Wiring of the car seems to be dodgy, don't know how bad though.
I'll have to move the ECU somewhere hidden >< Pics of that later.
Annddd... I'll write more but my managers gonna crack the shits LOL
fixed formatting
nobody in hell is going to read a thread like that
The lights - H/U - dash lights issue will be because someone has installed the H/U incorrectly.
Pull it out and make sure the earth (black wire) from the H/U goes to chassis not into the cars wiring. And there will be an orange wire (depending on brand may differ slightly) this is the illumination wire for the H/U, disconnect it if connected.
As for the Acc circuit, make your own using a relay or two (relays are rated about 30-40amps) triggered off the acc or a manual switch and you can run 4mm twin core cable from the battery to the relay and run a few accessories off it. Don't forget to put the appropriate fuse inline between the relay and the battery as well.
plans look/sound good. will keep an eye out!
