I test fitted the adm ae86 fuel pickup and sender in the new jdm tank.

It fits great, the pickup is squarely aligned with the lower regions of the baffling, and the sender swings freely and misses the extra baffles too. Makes the swap easy.

One problem that needs addressing is the lack of a drain bung. Before it sees any fuel in here I will definitely be having it fitted with one, as who wants to take out the tank to get rid of bad fuel? Not me.

Ok, now we have some progress.

The thing Ive been stuck on for months was the coilovers from my fabricator. I went and got em back today.

Plan from here on out is to get them painted and fitted.
Then get it rolling on the F diff with the southernways and flare it lightly to suit.
    Test fit the fuel system.
Minor tunnel mod to clear the top of the bell housing.
Fit the engine and box combo.
    Have extractors made.
    Have a tailshaft made - 1 piece.
    Wire it.
    Strip it down.
    Paint it
    Rego it
    Drive it.

I really like how he did it. Shortened the tubes and used a thicker steel tube to align and strengthen the join, and also to form a really solid perch for the threaded piece to sit on. If I ever wanted to use a different kit I can just remove this one and fit whatever.

Nope. Youll find a lot of coilovers arent. Im considering spot welding them but nothing more, I just dont want the threaded perch to spin on the strut when you turn the steering. I might invest in an upper hat system for this setup yet, just to keep it silent.

I would weld them, even just some small stitching for peace of mind, I hate the idea of such a large/key component just chilling there

So the idea is that the tube and perch stay still while the strut spins without them? You could put a spacer between the top of the threaded tube and the gland nut to stop any up and down movement. Powder coating looks great as usual.
