Pretty epic day road tuning and fixing stuff. I found my tps was erratic and didn't read clearly until 12 percent or so. No matter how I set it up. I bought a used genuine tps and pulled the malfunctioning one apart apart, and found I had cranked it too far and made it bottom out hard enough to damage the potentiometer. All fixed with the simple swap to a used genuine tps. Its running awesome, just need dyno tuning and I can race it. Put an extra return spring on the throttles to make sure it was hitting the stop, and because the standard springs with the itbs are pretty gentle. This didn't fix anything, adjusted cable, tried moving and re calibrating the tps, nothing worked so i started to feel I had damaged the tps, which upon opening it up, was definitely the case.

It wanted a lot more fuel everywhere, and its got a more effortless pull to it, its up to 80ks and hour in a flash, you really have to watch it or you'll be getting tickets. Im curious how the top end will perform, as it was pretty strong before at 112kw, and I have high hopes and data to show I was restricted with the 43mm throttles so my real hop is the power stays building until 6500 instead of plateauing at 6000 revs as it did before. Mid range is much fatter, and bottom end benefited much more than I had anticipated. Seems less sensitive to pedal position to be in the strongest torque. More responsive to a good stomping for sure. Put over 20 percent more fuel just above idle as the afrs demanded, but this may get wound back now I have a clean running tps. Then It wanted 12 percent for the next few cells, then it wanted 8 percent more above that, and down to 6 percent more above about 45 percent tps, and I havent revved it out yet to check the top end, but overall, it feels like a very worthy investment.

Went to willowbank last night. Improved from a 14.397 to a 14.211. Added 2mph of trap speed. Crossing the line at 156klm/hr.

Finally got my idle controller perfect! I had a fitting rubbing its workings so it would stick, took me ages to discover this.

After the last tune I decided to move the throttles upstream 80mm, its really livened up the top end and smoothed the delivery down low. I think it will show a gain on the dyno.

Went a bit silly and fitted an amp, and sub to this car so its now rocking a JVC amp, kicker 10 inch sub in a box, alpine 6x9 r types, and some little 4 inch pioneer speakers off the head deck. Its sounding great.
Also adjusted brake pedal and booster better and painted the windscreen wipers properly. Also doing up a metal hatch at this time, I'm so over this fibreglass hatch. Rust repairs are done, and off for paint soon.

I always wanted to do a better gearbox cross-member. The original was a modified rt142 cross-member, which didn't meet the mounts on the car very well, and was kinda poorly re-drilled. It was welded up nicely but it kinda twisted into place and the bolts never wanted to fit.

Finally decided to make something, so I cut and drilled the centre plate and bolted that to the box mount. Then I found the size of angles I might need to hit the bolt holes and luckily was able to find a thick steel folded bracket that was about the right size and shape for the rear cross-brace, so that was lightly trimmed. I then cut up some 2 inch box steel to get the other angled piece I needed, then spilt and bent the one side so it could bend enough to centre the bolts. This was welded up with some little bracing tabs from the same piece of steel. Works great and only a little bit heavier than the corona one, but picking up twice the bolts.

One other goal was to get rid of the ten mm spacer I had on top of the other cross-member, and to lift the box with a correct height cross-member as much as tunnel clearances allowed. I was able to do this, I dont know the exact mm of lift at the box, but I elevated the gearbox slightly with the jack before I began to the limit of its clearance, reliant on the settling of the rubber to provide the extra margin required. Measurements taken as the car was on the stands before and after indicated that the engine is .2 degrees flatter after the new cross member was finally bolted up. So that's a good thing, its been a challenge to mount the engine just right as its so tall, but I've got it worked out pretty well now. Its got lower harder cusco engine mounts to lower the motor 10mm, and its got the taller cross member to further flatten it out now, its right about where it should be.

Had a little play in the wheel bearings but adjusted it out.
