    Some photos of other works.
Sub in place and the kill switch I put on the battery box lid.
Metal hatch I've got in the shop for paint at the moment. This glass one is fucked.
Went to all Jap classic day. Had a blast. Was the only ae86 there. Whats up with that?
Also had an awesome cruise to camp Somerset, its epic out there in this car.

How much of that bonnet bulge does the engine actually take up? I feel like this car would benefit heaps from a more aesthetic bonnet, very cool engine swap nether the less and great to see you driving and enjoying it

You can see where the hole is cut and the flap bent down, its all behind that. It could be way more low key. I recently priced having an adr approved glass bonnet made, well over 3 grand. Ill just have to do it in steel if I can ever find a good one.

Steel bonnets aren't too hard to find, i had like three come up last year when i was looking for mine. I too have faced tall engine VS bonnet issues and I'd love to see a more elegant solution on your car

Elegance is expensive, my car is offensively ADM, so for me its more Mad Max than Takumi.

Its kinda my thing to have an out there bonnet, at one point I ran an a9x reverse cowl on a ke70. Its so hot up here you need to let the heat out.

Since I crested 35 the police just leave me pretty well alone. They arent happy about the bonnet, but because the car was pretty legal in most other ways, they let me have some time to find something better.

Put the JDM oil pressure sender in so the kouki dash has all the dials working. Sits about 6/10 when cold maybe 6.5 out of 10 when hot. Wondering how does this compare to how a 4age reads?

Tyres still well grippy after a year plus.

Need inner gaurds so this mess doesnt gather in the door hinge area.

    Put fire extinguisher in again.

Was able to get a ride in the swamp garage Trueno notch and compare oil pressure readings, its much the same as a 4age in the 2azfe engine.

I have bought a few more OEM bits for this car. Its got front seat-belt stems that you can use 1 handed, what a treat that is not having to 2 hand that chore. I also got a lot of spare interior and a minty rear deck trim, that I've been looking for since 2009. Also got some hatch control switches.

I was having an issue with the drivers window seizing up, and then I realised I had the right glass run in the left door and vice versa. Once you put it in correctly its amazing how it all just works! lol.

I gave her fresh oil, oil filter and air filters yesterday. Coolant still looks impeccable.

Did a scientific job filtering the old oil, no fine metals coming through, so with all my oil system mods it seems to be fine.

Really keenly looking for a thermostatic oil cooler system at the moment. I experienced 120 degree oil temps last weekend ascending Nebo.

I have a Mocal thermostat on my 4AGE oil system. It works really good, relative to warm up. I just wish I had a slightly higher opening temp than the 148*F. Since I live in the frozen north. Davew7

Cheers Dave Im thinking about the Derale Universal kit with the Mocal thermostat. Looks good without being some fluro ricey shit and it has the electric fan which I like the idea of in QLD.

I have pulled the spare 78k 2az from my auction 03 Camry, its sump and head are clear of sludge, the coolant and water passages were perfect, filled with the expensive Pink Genuine coolant and its just in generally awesome shape, so I've started tidying it up and rwd converting it. I have tapped the 2 extra holes for the engine mounts, and I have removed the heater barb from its hole and tapped that for m18x1.5 so I can either retain the heater with a Banjo bolt or plug it off and use it as an air bleed like I currently do. The other rwd mods, such as cutting the block for the Y starter, fitting the sump and extension to the oil pickup, modified dipstick, coolant diversion hose, shortened heater pipe, and custom belt arrangement and tensioner, will have to wait till the engine is out of the car.

The block had lots of oxide on it, so I got some wire brushes and the dremel and got to cleaning it up and removing casting dags and burrs.

Next step is to do a quick swap over a couple of days in the holidays to get the engines swapped over, and once the newer 2az is out its time to rip it apart and measure it to see if it will accept the 11:1 slugs.

I bought another box of AE86 bits from the same Bloke, and Im well stoked, I have pretty much a complete spare interior now, and I was able to source 2 of the 3 most annoyingly unfindable things I have been looking for. The nuts for the washer and light switches so mine dont rattle, some seatbelt buckles that you can use 1 handed. I'm still looking for arch trims despite having paid for some I have never received them. Fucking ebay crooks.
