Damn it,didn't load the the last 2 vids, weird.
Hi.well some have asked for details of my car so here it goes.
Bought the car 9 years ago for $200 for the sole purpose of autocrossing, its never been street driven since I bought it-trailer queen only.
For the most part it was kept fairly stock as per the rules with only mild engine work and suspension upgrades, went undefeated in our provincial series for 2 seasons straight before taking some time away and just doing events for fun.
In 2006 I decided to ramp the car prep up to what you see now.
The entire car was built in my 1 car garage including building the roll cage inside the stock body shell after the moulds were built. Then the mint steel body was plasma cut off(sad to see)and the new panels were built and reassmbled.
The engine was built my myself, its a 20v block fitted with gze pistons notched to clear the oil squirters, freshened a bigport head but no porting.Built a log exhaust manifold and fitted a TD04 off a wrx that had previously received a ported housing, nice 3" downpipe into a 2.5" exhaust with a glasspack and turndown ending under my butt.
Built an intake manifold from a stock unit to fit a set of 4 mikuni carbs from a yamaha fazer motorcycle which are fed with a custom plenum after a front mount intercooler. The ignition is a custom hybrid dizzy combining the guts of a toyota vacuum advance dizzy onto the 4ag shaft to fit the head,an msd boost retard box looks after the spark retard on boost.
The suspension up front uses 40mm rca's,relocated inner control arm pivots, custom tie rods and heims spaced down the same amount as the inner pivot is raised to correct bumpsteer,40mm strut cut with tokico hts dampers and poly bushings in the rest,4 way whiteline front sway, custom top mounted camber plates to maintain wheel travel(not a problem now but it was with my 1st dampers used years ago).Rear suspension is hts dampers with a custom coilover set-up,the chassis end of the panhard was relocated to level the bar(this winter will be a revised adjustable set-up to relocated both ends of the bar to lower the rear roll center),traction brackets, mount welded to the top of the pumpkin with an equal lenght(to the lower arms) upper arm passing through the bulkhead to a mount on the roll cage(all heims),no rear sway used.
There's tons of other little boring details but you get the idea.
20vgze that didn't work out well
A lousy vid with the turbo'd engine built I ran the cell a little too low so it was starving on right hand turns.
A couple vids from a couple years a ago with a stock 4ag and old michelin slicks on a cold windy airstrip
Thats about it,gotta head back to the shop to get some work done.
Damn it,didn't load the the last 2 vids, weird.
Yay it worked.

Man, just....wow. Awesome stuff, thanks.
that is some pretty seriour car, great work
wowzers!
Wow.
What's it weigh?
congratulations...i hate you...
that is a seriously awesome build
Thanks,I haven't weighed it lately with the new boosted engine but a good guess based on its last known weight should have it at about 1800lbs.It's a little heavier than most people think it will be but with the lower cg due to the light roof it will out handle an eqivolent weight car with a metal roof.
Once I get a few things changed I'll cornerweight it again in the spring.
thats about 800kg for us Aussies.
Awesome.
