Looking good. Not sure if you noticed but that head has no engine mount threads on the front, do you know where the head came from?

Yeah, I have noticed the head is of a differant casting to other spare heads I have in the shed. I got it from a mate, who got it from a parted out workshop built motor. "PULSE Racing" in Sydney I think it was called. Story as I know it, is that a customer paid for his motor to be built (high Hp 4AGTE). I was told the motor did a bottom end bearing in the first 500kms.... Couldn't afford to fix it, and parted out.....

I only got the head from that tho. The head was built for the turbo motor. The combustion chambers have been massively enlarged, bigger/differant valves, exhaust porting (4mm larger than stock diameter). I should be able to run higher boost..

I took many pics of the head from memory. I could proberley find them if you were really interested......

    Update:
Been heaps busy with both 86's, but been getting stuff done in the last week...

Euro (Lotus) style tail lights -

Brand New Genuine Crystal Body Yokohama (CBY) Flares -

Making the engine loom. Microtech --> 4age -

I came across the problem of the steering column output shaft/spline being too short to reach the manual GTV rack, as the car had a power steering rack before. So had to get a manual rack steering column off an other forum member -

After a good few days work, the car has made good progress...

Car is all now fully wired up with the loom I made. This has taken the longest time of all, 15 hours to make the microtech loom from scratch, but its all done now... Intercooler mounted, brand new clutch slave, Radiator fitted (huge Celica GT4 rad, custom fitted with twin thermos), All Interior pieces fitted (front only). Rear half will remain stripped....

    Getting close now....

Going on Holiday for 3 weeks, so next update wont be for a while...

Ok, Well it been quite a few months since I have touched this AE86 and it has gathered much dust. With the Accident with my gold 86, and buying the new SR20DET AE86, I have been quite busy.
Anyway, I got the shits with the SR86 last week, and my focus shifted towards the blue one.

In the last week, I have been sorting out the turbo system etc.... First, I had to rotate the turbos housings, so everything was facing the right way. Once that was sorted, I got started on working out what Speedflow fittings and braided lines I needed. (This step is hard on the wallet). Then, had the intercooler piping puzzle, but I am happy with how it has turned out Fitted a Turbosmart BOV and Catch can.

    Getting closer!
