If I was in your situation & not wanting another 86 id buy something like a N/a S14 (yes there are some in aus), altezza, mr2, cappuccino or a R32 with RB25DE... even something vtec or a fwd celica
Hey guys, as i'm selling my sprinter i'll need something else to drive and my search for a good corona doesn't seem very likely so i'm asking for suggestions from you guys in case I haven't thought of something. If you had $15K to spend on a fun daily what would you buy? Keep in mind i'm on my p's still for another year and a half so no turbos unfortunately.

Importing a nice AE86 could be on the cards, just trying to make sure I don't overlook any other options that's all. I don't like the driving position in ke's, doesn't feel right to me compared to an 86.
RS200 Altezza like a boss.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
just import an 86, or an is200, f'n cheap for what you get

What's the average price to import an 86 these days?
As for OP, good coronas can be found if youre willing to search beyond the typical ebay, carsales, gumtree, trading post etc, and time must be allowed.
Another alternative to consider are the AE82 Twincam models, and the AE92/3 SX/GTi models. Fairly cheap to buy (you will get plenty of change from $15k even after rwc and reg, you can put the change toward mods, or throw it in savings for the next car), they are FWD, but being as light as they are, handle fairly well. and they come with a 4AGE.
You could even get a AE101 or AE111 Levin or Trueno for that money.
There's even a reasonably cheap Ae101 Seca on gumtree with a 20V conversion, I think it's in Vic. If it hasn't sold it may be worth looking at.
There is a AW11 mr2 with silvertop conversion for about 5k on carsales.

Buy my R34. 7k as it sits. cheap manual conversion and you can have a reasonable nick r34 manual for under 10
DC2 Integra Type R.... Hope I don't get banned for recommending FWD
