I run xt130 LCA's and a heep of other people do with coilovers and it seems to be okay on your bushes, but most people replace bushes when doing the cross over
Hey guys,
I plan on running coilover with 8kg springs and xt130 lca's in my ra65 with just the stock strut tops. I was wondering if the firmness of the springs plus the extra strut angle (camber) will put too much strain on the rubber and make it split or even break. Now I know its only going to be about negative 1 degree camber, but I just think the combination of the new strut angle over standard and the firm springs might be too much for the rubber.
So can anyone just comfirm that this will be okay, dont really want/ need to run camber tops.
Thanks,
Adrian.

Sorry if the original post seems a little confusing, but i refering to the rubber strut tops as in camber plates but standard, like so
I see, well the strain would also be on the bearing inside that strut top but I think It would be fine. Yeah you would be fine running them I recon, but if you have the money why not go camber tops. But if you dont just run them untill you have the money

Yeah ill probly run them for a bit and see what happens
They should be fine, I'd rather use them over camber tops if avoidable especially with the heavier spring rate. That rubber will absorb the impact rather than if you used camber tops it hammering the towers. If you want more camber later I can vouch for the T3 weld on kit for the LCA's. I've made a couple pairs now and it's a much better way of getting camber than at the top in my opinion, plus you can pull in pos caster without stressing original LCA bushes. Kit is cheap too at less than half cost of other arms on market. May I ask why an 8kg spring though?
Yeah the shock impact is another reason why i didnt really want to run camber tops as well, and yeah shouldnt neead any more camber as a street car. Was trying to decide between 8kg and 10kg and thought i would try 8kg first, remember this is for a RA65 so it has a bit more weight than a ke70 and a few people run 8kg in their ke70s. Thought 8kg would be a good rate to still handle good for grip as well as being stiffer for sliding. Your opinion is obviously welcome though
Edit: Thanks for the advice btw
