not sure exactly what you mean, are you referring to where the cage mounts? i wanted a bolt in cage and it needed to 150mm back from the drivers head to be road legal so the boxes are just something level to mount the cage too...it's on both sides. the 2 blue sections are linking the 2 chassis rails.

Yeah I thought that mightve been the case, I have been looking at this part of my car and wondering why the rail is so weak and underengineered in this section, i think that I might do the same as you

Here is a vid of where I saw it done.
I spoke also spoke to an engineer and he had done the same thing. He said he used 30mm steel unlike the vid. So I did the same. Doesn't look as nice, but im not fussed how it looks as it would be covered.

Im sure what ever you do will look mint.

Put her on the spit, she loves it from both ends.

Rust repairs done some left still to do...

Seam welded on the underside covered with seam sealant.

Then hopefully paint the underside by the end of the week.

I love how most of the updates only contained 3 photos. Like that's all you needed to tell the story. LOL.

Great work dude and it's good to see a solid resto getting done. Did you sand blast the under-body before paint?
