I spoke to JEM about this exact thing, and he reckons he can use the factory ecu definitely without the cluster, it just takes a bit of dicking around. He said to wire up, from $500 to max $1500 to get it running.
can any of you guys tell me if the 3sg beams factory ecu is a feasible option when doing an engine conversion.
ive searched around and found 1 mention of needing the dash cluster as its integrated and wont run without it?
has anyone set one up without the cluster if this is the case?
and if so how did you go about it?
any info would be great.
thanks

From 500 - 1500
Sounds like he's never done it before.
Shit, for 1500 send me your harness & ecu & intake manifold and I'll make it run on my motor first. lol.
Andrew
Hey Andrew, I saw you posted on toymods to,
But is it just a basic wire up as any other Factory ecu install or is there something tricky involved?
I have someone who will happily do it, guranteed to work

They haven't done it before, so your paying for them to reinvent the wheel. Seems a waste not to put quads on it, and have the adjustability for later on with an a/market ecu, now you might think you'll live with it, but guaranteed later you'll want to modify it, for 1, thats what us cars guys do, and 2 because they really aren't that good stock.
Quads are not going to gain power, response yes. ( it's going to be a streeter, I don't think quads are worth it, not unless your going cams and higher comp. yeah the induction sound is rad
I was going to run a power FC on it. I'm sure quads will run on a power FC
Sam, I'm not after someone to do it, just info so I can do it myself.
I like the DIY. The tips are what I'm after.
the loom and ecu setup looked quite simple. it would be done as easily as any of the other convertions i would say.
theres afew examples of cars running on standard ecu's i think billzilla did and there was somone else on here that did it too.
hardest part will be finding a wiring diagram for beams, im yet to find one in my travels.
I have what you need, full diagram, sensor locations, diagnosis, etc..
I guess putting it in the tech documents is the way to go
