looking nice, go through that wiper wiring plug as you said on the far right. It's what the factory uses.
Hey everyone im at an exciting stage of the build where i get to farkk around with wiring :/
My question is wheres the best spot to feed the loom through the fire wall?
I was thinking of extending it and then feeding it through the cut out for the wiper motor wiring but im very reluctant to do so.
Any thoughts from past experiences?
Cheers
Paul

What ecu are you planning on using and as sam said easiest / best way is through the wiper hole
I'm bringing my loom through the bulkhead under the heater box.
Where i drilled the hole clashes with a heater box mount but I retained the mount and have the necessary space for the loom.
Cheers, thanks for the replys. Without pulling the engine back out I think I would struggle with drilling that hole.
Would the loom need to be extended to fit through the wiper harness hole? Or just a bit of persuasion? Ive tried and it's way to short.
thanks
Ran mine through the old aircon piping hole, ecu is mounted up high under the dash behind the glovebox... covered in braided sheeth it looks super neat and its the only part of the loom that is exposed really, apart from the injector wiring and cas that poke out the front of the spark plug cover...

BENT MECHANIX - Garage 20:
I would say the same as most, through the hole under the wiper motor where the factory loom comes out. I'm half way through splitting my factory loom as to avoid running wires over the motor and run them under the left guard, but still have them coming from the original position.
thanks for all the input, I have decided i want to run it through the wiper harness hole but to save me a bit of time with trial and error, does any one know for sure if the loom needs extending? I did a test run a few days ago before i removed it and opened it up to remove unnessary wire from the loom and i didnt look like it would reach.
Thanks
Definately doesn't make it without extending it, I gave you a bums steer earlier about easiest way.. I was thinking 16v looms as they definately reach, but the 20v ones don't.. On an ae71 I did this weekend, I slit the boot on the grommet that feeds through the firewall and pushed it through the a/c piping.
I spent at least 70% of the time working out how to route the wires and where to put things... Most of the wires aren't where they need to be and the finished loom looks nothing like the original. The ae71 is running factory ecu and a dizzy relocation kit.
I'll get some pics up if you are interested and do a quick write up, whislt it is slightly different for an ae86, it'll give you a good foundation.
What ecu are you running and do you have an adm or jdm bellhousing?
Hey, ya I've found i have removed and relocated allot of stuff like oxy sensor, alternator wiring, starter system, just to name a few.
Ive installed the factory efi relay and ran that neatly into the cabin for a ignition +, used a fat white wire as a batt +, used the looms earth and think i need to hook up the starter motor trigger wire to it.
Im running the factory ecu with a microtec ltx8 as a distributor-less ignition piggy back, CBF worring about fuel maps and shit. ADM bellhousing so i have a few issues there to. What dizzy relocation kit was used on the car you just did? proberly easier using that than a seperate ignition ecu.
