Default 4ac carby overflowing - stuck float

My sprinter has been idle for over 4yrs and now I am gettig it ggoing again.
I hace kept the original Carby but installed a facet eleectric fuel pump. Its a Facet Fdtro 3-6 psi pump.
The carby is overlowing when the pump is turned on so this would indicate to me a stuck valve.
Can anyone tell me how to unstick the valve ? Should I be installing a full carby kit?
Thorecttically if the valve work ok the fuel pressure should build up and the pump turn off.

    All assistance welcome.

    Cheers

The float could have a very very small crack in it filling the float up with fuel which weighs the float down leaving the needle on wide open throttle causing the bowl to overflow so take the carby off and check the float, and if its been sitting around cor 4 years you best off pulling the carby apart as it probably has old old fuel that turns into a jelly substance blocking some jets tiny ports

Thanks. I have managed to get the car going for short intervals. It would appear with fuel pump on that even though the float is working the need and seat is leeting fuel into the throat and hence the mixture becomes too rich and the car stops. If I turn the pump of so that theres o overflow the the engine runs nicely. Should I therefore put a whole new carby kit in?
