What exactly is wrong with it at the moment?

I need assistance to perform a carburettot rebuild for the Aisan single barrel carby for the 84 Sprinter.
I've never done a rebuild before and only want to do it once.
I'm quoted $60 from Repco for a kit and $80 from Streets Auto.
Is there any one out there in Brisbane area who can do it or preferably help me. Some $ available for the time.

Guess you just volunteered nick...
Thanks for replying.
I have bought a generic kit from Repco and removed carby and installed needle and seat as well as freed up stuck plungers
Cleaned the 2 venturies but did not remove balls..
Put float back in and adjusted it to be parallel with body. Can you tell me should the fuel level be half way up viewing window as currently it is over the top.
Note I did not use any sealants on gaskets. I did not remove balls either.
Cleaned up manifold gaskets.
Reinstalled carby.
It will start breifly then stops. Theres plenty of fuel in bowl. I note absence of fuel being injected into main throat. I did not check the solenoids. Car wil run if pour some fuel down main throat.
Any suggestions. SHould I have pulled out all the balls a well.
