    Default Tow Car

So i'm in the proses of De-registering my car and turning it into a dedicated track car because i'm sick to death of the heat it attacks.

My question is who uses what as their tow car? My tow car will be doubling as my daily too.

I have been looking at Hilux's, ford courier, mitsy Triton.

    Help

    Cheers

Try and get something with a little weight over the rear wheels, tray backs can be a little unsafe

V8 celsior or crown with air suspension. Newer the better.
Some of the crowns are even 4wd.

If you don't want something that pimp, use a hiace or alphard van with the v6.

It all sounds silly, but they make awesome daily drivers with their style and comfort, and the vans double as tools / parts carrier for track days

Downside is you gotta import these cars.

I bought an 07 diesel hiace its awesome, haven't towed with it yet but only downside is they're not really rated to tow much, mine is only 1400kg braked, which is still enough to tow my T18 but not much else really.

I probably would have bought a V8 celsior if I was able to drive them legally, they go good and fuel consumption isn't very high for a V8 under normal conditions so wouldn't be too bad towing I would think!

If I was to buy a 4x4 to tow with it would probably be a diesel 80 series wagon, cheaper than ute or troopy and still enough power to tow with or even a turbo diesel 60 series tow well and still get reasonable fuel economy when towing. I was actually thinking of selling my hiace to get a 80 series to tow with but meh I love the hiace, went for a drive up north just chucked a mattress in the back and slept there.

anything with a solid rear end, find most cars with IRS suck when towing and chew tyres

XR8 BA tows large car trailer(tyre rack, large ramps, winch) 73 CUDA tank, fine, with my ke on trailer tows like theres nothing there

I use a early gen UCF11 Celsior as my tow car... fuel isn't that bad, but it still hurts the pockets a little bit
I get 10.8lt to 100km under normal driving, 14.8lt to 100km while towing (I do a lot of up hill towing and carry 6 extra rims and tools too)

This is why air suspension is awesome. My Celsior height adjusts when the trailer and car go on so its always level = no camber wear on rears!
