    The car had its first motorsport event on the weekend at the ACT SDMA Hillclimb. The handling was terrible, something major!

    This was it's first ever track event, or even real drive for that matter. The car was terrible Power was great, but the handling was shithouse. Way too stiff, just understeerd straight off the road at corners, and the car has no LSD, so I couldn't even whip the arse end around. It was crap and it wasn't fun. I packed up after 3 runs, and then drove the Cyborg for the rest of the day..

    its kind of odd the dude that built it didn't bother with an lsd. at least the hard work is down, now it just needs suspension tweaks and some setup time. those 10kg springs sound crazy
    stroked 2L ca18-ae86 in the build...eta xmas 2012?

    The car was built by a workshop as more of display car I believe, to take to shows/tracks etc...... His reason for selling, was that they were now building a GTR, and didn't need the AE86 anymore.
    I dont think they ever planned to track it.

    The rear is actually a KOUKI disc rear end. It might still be a LSD, but just totally rooted. I have only just pulled an axle, but I will have the centre out sometime this week. Sometimes kicks out..... I dont believe they would have ever really done anything with it, just bought it and chucked it in.

    This week, I am giving the car a major overhaul, to meet my standards, needing to have the car ready for the ACT motorkhana this weekend. Currently, the car is up on stands, has no front or rear suspension, and gearbox or clutch is out.

    The problem with the handling was because the shocks (JIC) at the front were TOTALLY ROOTED! The car was literally using the front springs as bumpstops, causing the car to bounce and have no control at the front. So, I have bought brand new S13 ISC coilovers (32 way adjustable, 8kg springs) ($950 delivered express

    Second thing. The clutch. At the hillclimb, the clutch couldn't handle any heat. just started slipping. By the second lap, the car was almost free revving going up the hill. So, I have also just bought a Xtreme 6 puk ceramic race button clutch with the cro-moly motorsport pressure plate. $960

    After its driving again, the car will be a totally differant car to drive, and I might actually be able to keep the 10.5kg rears, if the fronts now have suspension, it might actually be ok, as they (rears) are brand new KSport coilovers.

    Been flat out trying to get this done this week. With work (night shift), freight times etc, and working on the car, I ain't getting any sleep....

    Yeah, its a new look I havent seen before, but its just by accident. The gold wheels are my track wheels that have Semi slicks on them, so they went on the car. I bought them for my old Gold 86 off Dave.....
