its all good, just saves me from selling my hoshinos lol
I just got this car back from Autotech (performance tuner) today after about 2 weeks. We have had big (yet small) problems with the car. Ed was away sick, so the car sat there most days. But, We got it solved today. Luckily, I am racing in the ACT hillclimb in 2 days.
It would only just run. Would idle at 300rpm and pop and splutter out the back if tried to rev....... Strangly, diagnostics came up with no error codes ??????? The problem was a faulty crank angle sensor (CAS) as well as a couple of wires had pulled out of the loom plug at the ECU. (Injector #1 input)....
Cant wait to give it a good go at the hillclimb since I have put in the new coilovers...

Ok, update for those following......
After getting the car back from Autotech, it still wasn't right. Battery was getting discharged. After a few tests, the alternator wasn't charging and was getting really hot. I went to a mates place, and grabbed a spare alt. Fitted it up, and 14.2V all round... The car became alive! All systems functioning at full voltage.
I did the hillclimb the next day. I found out alot about the car. 1. It has no rear end traction. It spun Dunlop semi slicks like they were $69 china cheapies!!! 2. It's a dream drift machine. I got some ok times, but took alot of concentration to keep speed/traction.
So, I have had the car running now for 2 weeks, and it's so exciting every time I drive it. The car is amazing to drift. Keeps perfect line, and is just way too easy. It's setup really well now. It's so effortless with the mid range torque this motor has. You can "lose traction" in any gear you want if you choose. I hardly ever use 1st gear. Starts in 2nd gear like its natural. All drift done in 3rd and 4th.
I drove upto Sydney on the weekend for Toyota Fest 2012
The pics are here. There are a few pages to scroll thru. There was a good AE86 turnout this year...

If people can drift with a stock bigport then this thing is an overkill x1000 already haha
This would be better suited for a large track for grip such as Easter creek where power is the key to fast lap times. Time to play with the big boys now jojo
dose
Thought I would have a little drift at the ACT hillclimb today, since my car has no traction .......... (Note: Not allowed to drift on this track)
