2 more pics. I fixed the rear towbar so its welded and bolted on properly now...
Unfortunately the time has come for me to see if I can sell my current daily driver.
I wont have a need for a 4wd anytime soon, so Im looking to downgrade to something slightly smaller.
I have owned this car for about a year, and have travelled almost 30000km with no major issues and it feels like it will last for a long time still. It is quite a practical car, but I would rather a ute seeing I do mostly city driving.
Typically the 2.4L is the slowest hilux youll ever drive. It is by no means a fast car, but with the slight engine mods and running a safe 10psi it keeps up with traffic pretty easily. Its a bit painful on some hills and for overtaking, but on boost it still feels better than a stock corolla.
Ive had a full car and towed a trailer to mudgee and back easily, just a bit slowly. Done countless trips up the coast, a few to lithgow, newcastle etc. I havent towed a car very far, but Id be happy to pretty much drive it anywhere (Im planning a trip down to tassie later this year if I still have it)
I get 500km to 55L pretty easily with city or highway driving.
Details;
-1992 Hilux surf LN130 (imported)
-NSW rego till december
-2.4L turbo diesel
-auto
-309000km
-3" turbo back exhaust
-ep82 top mount intercooler
-boost gauge
-new water pump, timing belt, front main seal, glow plugs, diesel filter
-transmission cooler
-IPF spotlights with IPF controller
-dual oddessey batteries with redarc isolator
-s13 silvia front seats
-LED interior and boot lights (great for camping or using the tail gate as a bench)
-speedy 3 piece 15x8 wheels
-31x10.5 desert duelers
-2" lifted king springs in the rear, slightly wound up torsion bars in front
-ARB hilux tube rear step/towbar (also have stock chrome rear bar)
-reverse camera with screen in rearview mirror
-new iron man steering damper
Bad Points
-power steering pump leaks a bit (like every surf or 4 runner)
-diesel pump has a slight leak, I have a full seal kit just never installed it
-Rear main seal is starting to drip oil, or it might be the sump (Ive found it easier to check oil and refill it than to rip the engine apart)
-exhaust rattles under 800rpm, 3" dump pipe was a tight fit without a body lift
-interior is a bit dirty, but comes up ok with a clean
-roof paint is faded
-clear is coming off passenger guard, just needs a clear coat, paint is still good
-auto could do with a service, drives perfectly when warm though
I will be completely honest about the car, because even with the bad points, it is still a great and practical 4wd. I currently do 500km a week with it easily.
I am open to swaps and trades. Otherwise I am after $5500 for now, negotiable as always.
Updated pics on the weekend, Im about to make a rear wheel carrier too so I can install a compressor and air tanks where the spare wheel goes.
***I also have the gfs corolla for sale. She lost her license and plans to buy a newer car when she gets it back. The body is pretty rough, but runs very well. Pics at the bottom, taking offers around $1100. It has rego till october
