Default Ke70/Ae71 rear strut brace help.

Hey guys, just chasing some opinions on rear strut braces for my ke70..

Im about to purchase ae86 rear coilovers, and I'm semi keen to run a rear strut brace, just wandering what's out there brand wise, as the only rear braces I know of are the ultra racing ones which look irratating to fit, as I'm pretty sure from what I've read you actually have to screw them into the sides of the rear strut tower, which is why I'm keen to see what else is on the market..

Im not sure as of yet if I'll run one or not as It might not ve necessary, as I'm already running adjustable sway bars, adjustable pannard rod, adjustable trailing arms and a heap of other bits and pieces..

If you're getting rear coilovers it might be a good idea to reenforce the rear end, but there have been people who have ran them without any bracing or anything so just a good idea I suppose.

Yeah awesome, well I'll purchase one more than likely, so I guess now all I need to know, is what other options are there, as im not really keen to run an ultra racing brace..

Those bolt in ones don't do a whole lot. That area is well braced and close to the floor already with a subframe under it. Even so flex in that around wouldn't be critical as the pan-hard still controls the side to side movement. If it was a Macpherson design it would be different.

I personally don't like the idea of rear coilovers unless there's a full cage braced to the shock towers. I have no personal experience using rear coilovers without bracing, but the load of the spring is designed to be taken at one point and the damper at another. Rear coilovers have all the load of both components through a point designed for just the damper. What in particular is your reason for choosing rear coilovers over a more sensible design of adjustable rear spring seat like those of what Shockworks and AJPS offer?
