Peter, yes it was, but I've dynoed/modded a few, I own two vehicles powered by 20v, one has had a 20v(in one form or another) for about 15 years. 20v's have great mid range torque due to the vvt compared to 16v, even comparing a B16 vtec to 20v, 20v stock for stock kills them everywhere, way more mid range.

Michael, thats good numbers for mods, I'm thinking of getting some Tomei Poncams for the AE111, would be interesting to see what these would make for mild cams. I also have a set of HKS racing headers to put on, so will do a before and after of those.

Peter, the car actually ran at the MSCA sprint today, I wasn't there but I heard from people that it ran really well and they said it sounded really crisp, we spent quite a bit of time on the dyno making sure it was spot on, the session was part of an international student course subject, so the international boys were involved, I don't think the Indian lads had heard anything rev so hard before, they were loving it. We had a few small problems with the Motec but in the end got it all sorted nicely, I got some good dyno overlays of runs with vvt on always, vvt off always and switched where it liked it, I'll scan and put up. Who is your friend with the JZX100? is he mechanical, auto elect?

Ian said that? I am going to have to ask him about that, I think he's completely wrong

Ill stay 16v in my 86 simply cause its the factory fitted engine and i like it that way, more correct, its 1.7 lt with 7 rib, mild cams in a standard bigport head and quad throttles, it runs a poor old ecu and as a result only made 70rwk. Im looking forward to getting this razorback ecu in it as its running sooo rich. Dont see why i wont be able to get it close to 90-100rwk with a good tune, maybe have to change the cams.

I i decide im not happy with performace for $ spent ill sell the bigport head and replace it with a standard (or mild port if i can afford the extra) smallport head and some larger cams, then i should reach my target easy

What ever happens only want to make as much power as possible retaining the 4.5age bottom end with bolt in cams that dont need to convert to shim under bucket, and maybe a thinner Head gasket. budget spec

you know Ian? Yeah I spoke to him just the other week and I told him what i was going for/planning. I said that lately I've been considering a 20v, wondering if it was a better option and he said to definitely go for the 16v
