    Default Defected - help!

Hey guys, long time lurker but i haven't posted much.

Last friday I was pulled over by a cop for driving like a "maniac". Don't think I was speeding though as he chose to defect me rather than give a speeding fine.
He got me for no spare tyre and horn button of all things, but also added on rims (14"x8") and loud exhaust.

The scary part is to clear the defect I need to provide a roadworthy AND book a QLD transport full inspection.
I think im screwed as my 86 is pretty rough.
My roadworthy garage gave me a to do list which I am slowly working through, but it's fairly extensive.

I can sort most of the little repair jobs, but if anyone has a spare set of stock or legal rear wheels, rear springs, or front coil overs they would be willing to lend for the inspection I would be so grateful - and can repay in beers!

Here is a pic of the car, 2 week old paint job. Looks so good right now and i can't even drive it.

that list looks pretty easy to clear mate. but i will guarantee you when it goes to dept transport they will pick up more shit to do.

the car looks really clean, except the tail lights. the tint may just be a target for cops. if you can grab some red lines, de rego, get a mobile roadworthy guy out to get a roady as they are usually a lot more lenient (if you have to get him to back date the roadworthy by a couple of weeks so it won't look bad on him as a business if you get pulled up the day after rego) then re register it.

wow their picky up there who checks a sump bolt ? car looks fairly standard outside as johl said id change the taillights maybe get whitelines/redlines as a nice change from ADM, and lose that exhaust tip.

Thanks guys, will the de-rego/re-rego work? I figured I would still need to have the QLD trans inspection done at some point before they would let me rego it.

Yeah it is pretty fiddly, im going to hit up the wreckers tomorrow.

TBH there are reports the motor registries run on the de-rego / re-rego cars to clear defects. Sure some slip through but it is only a matter of time before you get that hey we want to inspect your car letter.

That list isn't terminal, and shouldn't be too hard to fix with a bit of time.
