Default Body kit and new wheels

Hey guys my ae86 is pretty standard body wise with the exception of a splitter on the front bumper. I have 16x6.5 wheels which are on the engineers report. My question is if I was to get a body kit and change the wheels to lets say 15x8s could I get defected?

Yes, I think you are only allowed to increase the cars track by about 25mm.
15x8s should put you well outside the allowable track increase. But you should check the NSW code of practice for light vehicles:

Thanks mate much appreciated, any idea about a bodykit? Sorry about all the questions guys but in Ireland none of this would be an issue!

did you get your car engineered or bought it with engineer papers? 16x6.5 should already be illegal since the size of the rim should be no larger then 1.5inch from stock for a car under 1tonne.. cars over 1.2 tonne can have 2inch bigger wheels then standard.. goes something like that from memory.

which means largest wheel should be 14x7 for it to be legal to be engineered for a AE86..

RTA site has links to all these stuff

body kits should not be an issue too as its not structural change to the chassis...Cop tried to defect me for bolt on wide rear guards on my s13 saying it needs to be engineered. i said its not even structural change to the car and is a bolt on body kit at the most like a sticker would be, he said im a cop and i know these stuff, needs to be engineered!! what a egg head..
