30kw club
theres a vid in this thread with an 86 with jus exhaust and pod on 4age 86 and he reached high 15, id say its possible to get low/mid 15 with those mods and maybe better gear ratio diff / gbox
i don't wreckon it matters, cause i run my car on premium and i'm still not spending as much as commodore drivers, and i can corner harder
A 100kw 4age in a 950 kg corolla has slightly better power to weight than your average commo, decent tyres, a good launch and 4.3 or lower diff and you should be able to beat them to 100.
If you want it to be fast in a straight line, turbo it.
150rwkw corolla(950kg) has same power to weight as a 190rwkw s13 (1200kg) which has the same power to weight as a 285rwkw VE commodore(1800kg)!
Just some food for thought.

RT142 Estate.
AJPS.
Do you even have a car?
Were not saying were pros, were saying we have better reaction times, more revs and most people cant drive.
i raced my mate in his Lexus is300 (non turbo supra motor)
i am running 84.5kw at wheels (down on power) and up to 80km (speed limit) we were dead even.....
so with more power i will have a faster car than a 154kw 3L 6Cyl.
haha yea makes it a bit more even
but im gonna have to agree with a lot of the other people here saying ae86s arent that fast. and all those stories about beating or keeping up with turbo sils/skylines with a relatively stock 4age seem a bit far fetched... i dont think they should be made to drag or need to be made to drag, keep it to the twisties and you'll have a fair few other cars covered tho
also, they werent made as a 'sports car' from the factory (leave that to the big old supras/mr2s) and i think unless its supercharged or been turboed they're simply not that quick (even with the low weight). they're just an old corolla that happens to have a 4age like all those other nippy, but relatively slow ae82s..
but make a thread about how good they are in the hills and we'll see some e-warrioring going on there with a lot with 'ae86s are the greatest!' and realistic stories about 'beating sils/skys' haha~
^ dropping knowledge
So what happens when i put 190rwkw into my corolla(950kg)???
standing start sux. spins too much.
but the old boot it from 60 scares many. lol
nothing is more satisfying then pulling away from a car whilst rears are spinning, car is 2 foot sideways, then pulling up to the next set of lights and being asked
"whats in it?"
"its ok, its only 4-a!"
actually car is dirty nissan powered.
